For some reason, the great memories of summer days stick in our minds forever. With the extra sun and heat giving everyone an added spring in the step, crowds flock to the beaches all over the country to get a taste of summer in its ideal environment. There is no better place than the beach in the height of summer, with the wind rolling off the sea and your friends by your side.

However, we all know the drawbacks to being out in the sun all day long. The heat can tire you out, and the harmful UV rays of the sun can pose a grave threat to the health of our skin. Besides, when the weather takes a bad turn and there’s nowhere to take shelter, a day at the beach can quickly become a glum ride home.

The only way to make the most of your beach days is to prepare for both the best and the worst of times. That means hoping for a beautiful day with no threat of rain, but having a secondary plan in case ominous clouds appear on the horizon. Taking along a marquee is an excellent way to cover both ends of the spectrum.

For those with fair skin, an Outdoor Instant Shelters marquee will allow for that much-needed break from sun exposure, without separating you from the rest of your party. Nearly 100% of harmful UV rays are blocked by the marquee’s covering.

If you want to make it a day for a picnic at the beach, you’ll be able to provide protection for any type of food you bring. As for cold drinks on ice, you’ll get added time with the sun blocked out.

For surfers, the marquee is an ideal accessory. You can spend the whole day at the beach, taking a nap in between surf sessions, not worrying that the wax on your surfboard will have melted by the time you awake.

Predicting the weather is never an exact science — even for the professionals — so it’s never a good idea to rely on the forecasts. While a picture-perfect day may appear to be looming, a storm front could just be a few kilometers away. Likewise, when you see menacing clouds coming your way, it may just be a quick shower and then disappear. Either way, when you have an Outdoor Instant Shelters marquee there to protect you, you won’t be chased off the seashore until you decide the time has come. Watch the crowds run for cover, while you and your friends have a snack.

For all of the benefits of the Outdoor Instant Shelters marquees, there is not much effort required to erect one. Two people can finish the job in about sixty seconds.

An Outdoor Instant Shelters marquee has three sides, so on a pleasant day you can just keep a roof over your head, while on a windswept afternoon you can block the flying sand from getting mixed in with your belongings and bothering everyone.

Even on the most crowded day at your favorite seaside spot, you can find privacy in a marquee, as the three walls will block out the noise and view of people, letting you and your friends focus on the important thing: the pounding surf as it hits the beach right before your eyes.

  • With the economy in a sorry state, umpteen people are struggling to survive on their earnings. It’s not merely that the cost of living is still raising for most people; it’s also a problem that the bottom has fallen out of the stock market, the credit market, and the real estate market in most countries around the world.

The crash of the stock market – if we can get away with calling it that – of autumn 2008 destroyed lots of people’s funds, not to mention their so called investments and savings for every day living. As the dust settles after the disaster, yet, there is still a question of – what could we all actually do to make money and regain our financial security in this current climate?

Lotto’s might not be the obvious response to this question but then, they aren’t a bad one either. If you play lotto’s with a mind to win – controlling the betting odds in your favor and otherwise controlling how you play – you get a pretty good shot at making frequent money from lotto winnings.

There is, all the same, a couple of very specific rules to observe, the first of which is that you almost certainly not win a lottery (the chances are millions to one, and yes, you are more apt to get hit by lightening) if you play by yourself. If you play as a member of a syndicate, however, these ludicrously long odds turn on their head and you will have, instead of a unfavorable shot, a somewhat good shot of winning something – that’s not necessarily the lottery jackpot but then, anything – on a frequent basis, not just draw to draw but week to week.

As an investment tool lotteries, function really much in the same way as the stock exchange and sports betting (the high-tech sort. By a very detailed review and assessment of possible outcomes (the numbers chosen and the combination of the selections) you can significantly better your own chances of winning not just a small amount, but one of the larger prizes, even the jackpot.

As an investment tool, being a member of a lotto syndicate and playing regularly in lottery draws is a useful and extremely lucrative option for a really high return on investment. These days, it is in all likelihood a better approach to investing than buying shares on the stock exchange at this time.

Amongst the lottery syndicates in operation during the present time, E-Lottery heads the way with its unparalleled and extremely effective strategy for taking part in 2 major world lotteries on a weekly basis. The Elottery syndicate was set up in 2002 and it presents a devised achievable system that acquires more frequent cash wins than any other lotto syndicate today.

Now, Elottery has placed itself as the proven Internet-based lottery provider to lead the governmental lotto industry into the e-commerce marketplace. It applies the latest in Internet-based technologies to offer new and existing lottery products world-wide. By addressing numerous intricate and legal matters, e-Lottery has become the biggest professional syndicate in today’s lottery marketplace.

    If you want strong odds plus the opportunity of a higher return, then joining a syndicate like Elottery and using it to invest your money is a very good way to go;

  • Best Golf Courses – My Recommendations

Sep 5, 2009 Author: Terry Powell | Filed under: Recreation & Sports

Many golf players love to play in different courses, and they may tell you that each course provides a different experience. It is difficult to come up with a list of the best golf courses in the world, as different golfers obviously have different standards, not to mention there are far too many courses to choose from! If you ask me, I can tell you that I really like a course that is driven by a rich historical background, filled with world class facilities, surrounded by breath-taking scenery, and is rising in popularity.

Below, I am going to share with you the top 2 golf courses in my favorite list. I highly recommend these two because they offer lots of extra features which will make your golfing experience more exciting.

    1. The Eagle Point Golf Club

This par-72 golf club is situated in the eastern part of North Carolina, and is a low-profile course that keeps amazing golfers at various skill levels. With its easily accessible greens, you can choose to walk as you go through different holes. Guests may also like to use the club’s very nice caddie service, as well as the tennis and swimming facilities.

There are more than 7,000 yards of golfing grounds, with a 74.5 rating and replete with 137 slopes for golf players to test their mettle. What adds to the challenge for players is the prevailing wind from the Atlantic Ocean. At the first glance, the club looks traditional, but it is filled with top rated facilities. There is even a high-tech learning center for those who would like to further their golfing skills. These, together with the town’s unbeatable year-round weather and the great private retreat for golfers and their families, make the Eagle Point Club one of the best golf destinations country wide.

    2. The Concession In Florida

This golf club was foundered by Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin, two of the legendary persons in the golfing field. Since its official launch in 2006, the club has been featured in many of the famous golf publications like Golfweek.

There is some historical background to how the name of the club was derived. In 1969, Nicklaus yielded a three-foot putt, and that act of sportsmanship was all the British team (led by Jacklin) needed to tie with the Americans. Although the Americans were the final winners of the the contest, the act was forever etched in the annals of the sporting world. Many years later, the two golf legends started to develop a golf club on a 1,200-acre property which is free from other housing plans. The club is composed of 7,470 yards with 155 slopes and 77.6 rating, and is superior in its landscaping and fairway bunkers This is exactly what has made it one of the best – it is challenging and enjoyable.

  • The Early Years Of MMA: Ali Vs. Inoki

Sep 4, 2009 Author: Ross Everett | Filed under: Recreation & Sports

While mixed martial arts fighting has only recently become popular in the United States, contests between fighters of different martial arts disciplines have taken place in Japan for many years. They weren’t called “mixed martial arts” until recently, but they were definitely an embryonic form of the now booming sport. Many of the most famous events of this type took place in Japan during the 1970’s involving pro wrestling legend Antonio Inoki.

Before and after his matchup against Muhammad Ali, Inoki would frequently compete against other martial artists in what are widely accepted to be “worked” (ie: having a predetermined outcome) matches. Inoki fought boxer Chuck Wepner, judo Gold Medalist Wilhelm Ruska and world karate champion Willie Williams among others. His most famous match internationally, however, was against Ali.

There are differing accounts of how the best heavyweight boxer in history found himself in a ring in Tokyo’s Budokan Arena against a pro wrestler. One thing is certain–it was viewed as an easy payday for Ali, who’d lost a good chunk of his prime earning years to his controversial stance over the Vietnam war. That’s what got him there in the first place, and that’s what kept him there after the two sides began squabbling over the rules and the outcome of the fight. Some suggest that it was supposed to be a “fair fight” going in and once Ali saw Inoki spar he insisted on rules changes to tilt the fight in his favor. Another more likely version of the story suggests that Ali’s handlers knew that the fight was supposed to be a “work” all along. They made the deal with Inoki’s people based on this fact, and were all on board as to the outcome of the match and how it would “finish”. The “original” plan was to have Inoki win in a controversial manner that would keep his undefeated streak in “MMA” matches intact while allowing Ali to “save face. The only person who wasn’t aware of the game plan, however, was Ali himself. When informed that he was supposed to “take a dive”, even in a convoluted fashion, Ali refused. No agreement was reached between the two camps and at the last minute a legit fight transpired. The promoters were left with a sold out Budokan, a worldwide PPV audience and two fighters who despite every effort to the contrary would actually have to fight each other.

By the time the fight began, Ali’s handlers had obtained a ridiculously one sided set of rules that prohibited Inkoi from using a closed fist, striking Ali in the head at all, using any chokes or submissions or even trying to take the fight to the ground. Were it not for the huge amount of money he’d be leaving on the table, Inoki would have been justified in not fighting at all under these highly restrictive and one-sided conditions.

The result was an absolutely horrible fight. Neither man showed much interest in engaging the other, with Inoki spending most of the time on the ground doing what he could under the one sided rules. Inoki threw kicks at Ali’s legs, Ali threw an occasional jab and tried to protect himself from his opponent’s leg strikes. The fight ended a 74-74 draw, with the real losers being the fans.

Some interesting trivia about the fight–the referee was former pro wrestler “Judo” Gene Labell, who is considered by many ‘the baddest man on the planet’ even in his 80’s. He could have very likely beaten up both men at the same time–a spectacle that might have been welcomed by the live crowd and closed circuit audience worldwide.

After the fight, Inoki’s popularity in Japan was greater than ever. He became something of a hero for trying to fight despite having the rules so decidedly in his opponent’s favor. He’d continue his fights against other martial artists and remain one of the country’s most popular sports figures for years to come. His ‘worked’ martial arts matches can be credited with sparking later hybrid promotions showcasing pro wrestling and martial arts that evolved into PRIDE, RINGS and the major Japanese fight promotions of today.

  • Anderson Silva Smashe Forrest Griffin At UFC 101

Sep 4, 2009 Author: Ross Everett | Filed under: Recreation & Sports

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva had lost a lot of his luster coming into Saturday nights UFC 101 matchup with former light heavyweight champ Forrest Griffin. He was undefeated in his previous nine UFC contests, but his last three victories had been far from impressive. Hed beaten overmatched James Irvin last July in his first effort at 205. That was followed by a TKO win against Patrick Cote when Cote blew out his knee mid fight. In his most recent bout, hed pouted and showboated his way to a unanimous decision victory by default against a thoroughly overwhelmed Thales Leites. On that night in Montreal hed heard an abundance of boos from the fans who at one point started a GSP chant in reference to his most frequent challenger for pound for pound MMA supremacy. Even Dana White criticized his effort and finally conceded that St. Pierre might, indeed, be the best all around fighter in the game.

There was none of that on display at UFC 101. Silva was simply dominant as he overwhelmed the naturally larger Griffin, knocking his opponent down three times before finishing the fight with a spectacular”yet almost effortless”straight right hand.

The live crowd in Philadelphia clearly favored the likable Griffin and gave him a huge ovation as he bounced to the ring to his trademark walk-in song Shipping Up To Boston by the Dropkick Murphys. Silva, meanwhile, received a smattering of boos as he confidently strode to the cage. Silva displayed much more humility toward the fans than he has in his recent outings, bowing in all four directions after the entered the cage.

He displayed none of that courtesy toward Griffin once the fight began and was simply the wrecking machine that UFC fans had grown accustomed before his recent run of lackluster performances. Forrest came right at Silva, assuming that his natural size advantage would equate to a strength advantage as well. All that did was make him a stationary target for Silvas pinpoint striking accuracy and The Spider quickly took control of the fight. After an early feeling out process, Griffin flashed a body kick which was caught by Silva and countered with a short punch that sent him to the canvas for a flash knockdown.

The second knockdown clearly hurt Griffin, though he once again made it back to his feet quickly and landed a combination of his own. This was his best”and last”offense of the fight. Silva quickly floored Griffin with a left hand that left little doubt to the eventual outcome of the contest. The double tough Griffin made it to his feet again, and tried to land a leg kick”which Patrick Cote had used with some success in their fight.

Silva, backing up, landed a perfect and almost effortless straight right that sent Griffin down for good. The referee didnt even bother to count as he waved his arms over the prone fighter as Silva celebrated his win. Griffin quickly exited the cage and, reportedly, the arena. Postfight reports suggested that he wanted to get immediate medical attention for a dislocated jaw suffered on the penultimate knockdown.

Silva, apparently making an effort to be more fan friendly, did his postfight interview in English with a Portuguese interpreter standing at the ready. His message was simple: I want to fight against the best. Whoever the best is at the time, I want to fight them. Though Silva didnt really affirm that hed be campaigning more at the heavier weight, that was the implicit message of his comment.

  • Why Brandon Marshall Must Grow Up

Sep 4, 2009 Author: Ralph Sanchez | Filed under: Recreation & Sports

Who didn’t predict this a mile away? I was sure that the moment your teammate and fellow drama queen, Jay Cutler, got dealt you were going to throw a temper tantrum like a spoiled little kid who wasn’t allowed to have ice cream. You need to act your age!

Brandon, you have all the skill in the world and you’re wasting it! How many laid off Americans (myself included) would die for the incredible wages you command undeservedly.

We dedicate the 45 hours per week at our workplace to get by and our employers decide they need to make cuts to make their objectives. We are left with a box and given a small severance package and from there we are jobless.

You’ve been criminally charged more than three times (I have lost track). You’ve gotten suspended by your team. You didn’t read your team’s plays. You don’t like your new coach and QB.

You rested through training as your colleagues ran. You punted a ball somewhere else from a ball boy and swatted somewhere else a pass to him.

These are not customary behaviors for a 25 year old man who is viewed as a role model for young people (parents should be mentors, not pro athletes in my estimation). You are a joke and a liability to pro football. To be a pro athlete is not to be taken for granted.

All the stats, championships, pro bowls, and millions of dollars don’t mean anything when you’re a joke of a guy. Take this period to a different place from the franchise and do some figuring out. Whether you like it or not Brandon, not one person in America has a drip of respect for you.

You have something that you get paid insanely well to do and you disregard your profession and organization. Sorry guy, the pity train left a long time ago from Brandon Marshall station.

  • Astronomy For Starter That Has Questions

Sep 4, 2009 Author: Jared Thompkins | Filed under: Recreation & Sports

While many people consider astronomy using a telescope gazing at the stars, many do not even think about using binoculars for astronomy. It is also recommended that you start off using binoculars if you are just getting into star gazing.

One reason is that telescopes can cost you hundreds or more, and on top of that with all of the options that there are out there you may waste your money. Binoculars in most cases are cheaper, and there are certain things that you can see better with binoculars than you can with telescopes, such a comets and eclipses.

Binoculars will make it easier for you to learn about star locations after studying a star map. Once you have a good idea of what you are wanting to look for, then it might be best to hunt for a telescope, just remember there are things that look clearer through a good pair of binoculars than a telescope.

Now you should know more about the stars after some nice star gazing nights with the binoculars. When choosing a telescope, you will now have more understanding of what you are looking for. It is always a good idea to try out a telescope before you buy it, or read user reviews if it is not possible.

Some things to think about are what you plan to do with the telescope, how much you have to spend and are you going to take photographs of your sightings. If you are a causal backyard astronomer, you might even look at the Dobsonian telescopes.

The two types of telescopes that are used the most and are the most common are the reflector telescope and the refractor telescope. The reflector telescope uses mirrors to gather light to produce the image. While the refractor is gathers light by use of a lens.

In some of the opinions from astronomers, the refractor is the finest type of telescope for looking at the solar system. However, reflectors are cheaper than the refractors. Reflector telescopes are recommended for beginning astronomers.

When you are using a telescope, the darker the surrounding are is the better your viewing will be. So make sure that you get as far away from city lights as you can, as it can greatly ruin your stargazing.

Having access to a star map is almost essential for the beginning astronomer. Paying attention to upcoming events such as comet passes, and when the planets come through into view will also make sure that your experience with astronomy is nothing but spectacular.

So you are ready to start looking at the stars andare searching for a used telescope, you should stop by the authors store whereyou can find telescopes for sale.

  • Despite losing to the New Orleans Saints in their NFL preseason opener 17-7, the Cincinnati Bengals had a lot to be happy about. Most significantly, they were elated over the return of QB Carson Palmer after hed missed most of the last NFL season with an elbow injury.

New Orleans had their share of offensive highlights, with QB Drew Brees hooking up with tight end Jeremy Shockey for three completions including Shockeys first touchdown reception in a Saints uniform. Brees backup, Mark Brunell, also played well and tossed a 64 yard scoring strike to Robert Meacham.

Saints fans were well aware that their QB would produce after hanging over 5,000 yards on the board last year, but Palmers return from injury brought a sigh of relief from Bengal backers. Palmer missed most of last season because of a partially torn ligament and tendon in his passing elbow. His passing highlight was a 55 yard play to Chad Ochocinco.

After Shockeys TD staked the Saints to a 7-0 lead, the Bengals tied the game before halftime when Palmers backup J.T. O’Sullivan hit Chris Henry on a 14 yard touchdown pass. OSullivan also produced solid numbers, completing 9 of 11 passes for 100 yards.

The Bengals will continue their NFL preseason this Thursday as they travel to Foxboro, Massachusetts for a game against the New England Patriots. The Saints will also play away from home, heading over to Houston for a game against the Texans on Saturday. Both teams will kick off the NFL regular season on Sunday, September 13th with the Bengals hosting the Denver Broncos and the Saints welcoming the Detroit Lions to New Orleans.

  • Ricky Rubio is Yet Another Baby in Sports

Sep 4, 2009 Author: Lance Valverde | Filed under: Recreation & Sports

You cannot condemn the Timberwolves anymore.

David Kahn trusted Ricky Rubio at his word… that he planned to go to the NBA. Although when push came to shove… after every one of the strings had been tugged and the hoops jumped-through… Ricky Rubio backstabbed the team.

“Playing in Minnesota would have simply convoluted my existence much. It was a peril and I did not perceive it so clearly,” Rubio insisted. “My main concern was the NBA and it was impossible for the organization to afford my buyout clause, so I wanted to remain house.”

Oh… you can’t be serious. It might have convoluted your existence. You mean participating in the American basketball scene and experiencing the supposed dream you have? And that part about not having the means to assume the buyout:

Kahn said Rubio’s negotiator, Dan Fegan, provided a package of sponsorship contracts and endorsements that helped make the basketball contract pleasant enough for Rubio and Joventut to enter into a deal last weekend.Rubio says the agreement came with too many challenges… even although it’s his agent that came up with the deal.

The team took a shot on this youth… and they finally came up with a deal to bring him to the league. But when it came down to it… he happened to be fearful. Hey… it’s his choice. You don’t have to end up where you don’t aspire to, Ricky.

Only don’t say one thing and do something completely different. Don’t back out since you do not like the team that chose you. This is part of the contract.

It is the identical contract everyone else makes. In return for making it to the league, you would be required to work somewhere you do not wish to end up. You think Blake Griffin is psyched going to the Clippers? Or fellow Spaniard Pau Gasol was ever happy regarding playing in Memphis for all of those seasons? That’s just the way things work out.
