  • Thoughts On Telepathy

Nov 18, 2009 Author: David A Andrews | Filed under: Reference & Education

Telepathy is when one person transfers their thoughts and emotions to another person often over great distances.

Telepathy is simply a natural, although misunderstood level of communication. Over the years animal trainers and scientists have come to the realization that animals use telepathic communications when connecting with one another, not just when up close, but also over great distances.

Many years ago it was believed that primitive tribes possessed the power of telepathy, and anthropologists still believe it today.

The truth of the matter is that telepathy isn’t some esoteric subject. If we would believe that it’s just as reputable as learning a new language, people would accept it much easier. Seriously, we always recognize those who have issues with speech, so why is it so difficult to acknowledge those individuals who possess extraordinary powers. Shouldn’t we consider the people who can’t do it as just having defectiveness?

It’s unfortunate, but our civilization has lost its ability to stretch the telepathic mind. Even though it’s a natural part of the human brain, society has created a shell for most people to keep from using it.

What it comes down to is that telepathy and that “sixth sense” is connected. You may know the term “third eye” to be a more descriptive answer in your area.

You have probably already utilized your telepathic power and haven’t even realized it. This is mostly because we consider these to be gut feelings or instincts. Maybe you just felt as though someone was looking over your shoulder, or you’re worried about a family member all of the sudden. These things happen all the time and the end result is that you’re usually right. It’s amazing how we accept this in our world, but the mention of it being connected to telepathy and most people turn their head.

While there is no real answer as to why humans lost touch with telepathic powers, but it’s usually because we just stopped believing. Then of course there are many religions out there that don’t believe this is a transcendent power from God. Instead religions like Christianity and Islam believe this to be a Satanic tool that has possessed the person with demonic powers.

If you or someone you know are set in their religious ways, you’ve probably been told not to put any sort of faith in telepathy. This is so you reflect this power to only be utilized by the Messiah, Savior, Prophet, or any other name you use for the almighty.

Knowing this, you have to wonder why they are so distrustful when it comes to telepathy. In our own opinion it has to do with the power struggle between religious leaders. Why would they want someone else challenging them if they knew about telepathy? Granted not every leader is like this, but the majority has been throughout history.

Everyone deals with different religions, but if they’re not pushing down telepathy, scientists who are narrow minded are the next in line. They believe that telepathy cannot be numerically measured to get enough serious consideration. They also exclaim that it can’t be tasted, or even touched. Keep in mind there are several scientists who believe in the telepathy powers, but they are few and far between.

It’s a big dilemma considering scientists have no problem accepting emotions and instincts. Are these individuals being prejudice? It’s possible, but since scientists can feel emotions and instincts themselves, they consider this okay. When it comes to telepathy though, there is a lot left to be explained, so they don’t acknowledge it.

Some believe it could be that the scientists who oppose telepathy are simply jealous. After all, it doesn’t seem fair that someone could do something like this, which is why they don’t want anyone else to have them. So instead of branding something different, it is always considered an instinctive response.

Maybe we can date back this loss as far as the Tower of Babylon story featured in the bible and the confusion that surrounded languages. Maybe it wasn’t just language that was a setback; maybe people who used telepathy had this problem as well.

  • School And Education? Who Needs Them?

Nov 18, 2009 Author: Matthew Smith | Filed under: Reference & Education

Do you know why an education is important? We deal with this issue quite a bit on our math comic strips web site. In this article we are going to point out some reasons why you should get a good education.

To start off, a great education equips you with power. When you graduate from school, progressing through elementary school, middle school, high school, college and university, etc., the education that they provide gives you power over your future. It’s true that you can get “on the job” training for some jobs, but they are getting rarer as time goes on. Many employers won’t even consider you if you don’t have the minimum educational requirements.

Resourceful human beings are people who have a good grasp of knowledge and education. None of us know everything about everything, but a well-rounded education equips us with a background that we will be able to employ in any situation that we find ourselves in. Let’s illustrate this point with a little example. Suppose you know how to tell time. You acquired this knowledge and education at some point, and have been successfully able to tell time on your own personal watch. Let’s suppose you left your watch at home. What do you do now? Well, this education helps you to be resourceful, and you will be able to tell time on any watch or clock that you find around you at the time. This is a very basic example, but you get the point…

A greater quality of life often comes hand-in-hand with a well-rounded education. When the economy starts to turn down, people get laid off, and it’s often those who lack education who get laid off first. It’s hard to keep up your quality of life when you have no job. Even worse, people who lack in education often have a harder time finding a new job.

Understanding often goes “hand-in-hand” with a great education. Suppose you are on a trip to Europe, France to be more specific. You may never have been to France before, but by educating yourself and studying about this country while at home, you will have a deeper understanding of France, and the French, before you even set foot in Europe.

A well-rounded education can provide you with tremendous networking opportunities. Perhaps you have heard of the saying “birds of a feather flock together”? Having a good education means that you will meet more “birds” who “flock around” similar places and jobs. They will know when jobs open, and who you should contact. This will come in handy when you need to get that “foot in the door”.

Aren’t people with a good education more fun to be around? They seem to have knowledge on almost any subject, and can keep a conversation rolling along. Armed with a good education, if someone happens to bring up an obscure topic at the dinner table, you will be able to join in and give your opinion. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to educate others and make new acquaintances and friends in this way? I think so…

In conclusion, these are just a few reasons why we think education is important. On our math comic strips web site we focus primarily on teaching math skills to children via comic books. If you are interested in learning more about this fascinating subject, please visit us on our web site.

If the idea of educating children via math comics interests you, then visit www.Math-Comic-Strips.com to find the best advice on this form of education.

  • I Don’t Want To Be A Criminal Attorney Afterall

Nov 17, 2009 Author: Adriana Noton | Filed under: Reference & Education

I grew up wanting to be a criminal attorney. I changed my mind after my first DUI case. I went to a small unaccredited law school. This meant I could take the bar exam but I would not have the job offers graduates from ABA accredited schools would get. But that was all right. I figured I would break into criminal law somehow.

But going to a small unaccredited law school also meant the government would not be quick to offer me a position either. But I only wanted to graduate so I could take the bar exam. I figures I could think later about finding a lawyer job.

Government work is the best place to get criminal law experience. Really, it is the only place. Most if not all criminal law lawyers in private practice worked for the district attorney office or the public defender to begin. But most if not all of those jobs go to graduates or ABA schools. But I was able to get an interview with the county I lived in. There was a state wide hiring freeze because of budget shortages. But it was lifted for one position in the county public defenders office. I got 88 out of 100 in the interview. I knew this was not high enough with all the competition for one job opening.

Two days late I received a notice in the mail that the hiring freeze was back in effect. The county had not even filled the one position before the freeze was back in place. I decided to take a course in drunk driving defense. What I learned seemed easy enough to put into practice.

I put a small advertisement in the local shopper offering my services to those who needed help with their DUI charge. My phone rang non-stop it seemed for three days. I went to court the following week with my first client in the court house across the street from where I had graduated from college. I had never been in one of the court rooms I thought as I was parking my car.

There was no defense to my client’s charge. As my DUI class instructor said sometimes lawyers are there simply to hold their client’s hand in court. That was my job. But I wanted to go through the steps just the same. I walked over to the district attorney’s desk. She was chatting with the female bailiff.

Finally when they were done the female bailiff looked me up and down turned her nose up and walked off. I asked the female deputy district attorney to confirm the charges and asked what would be the sentence she would agree to. This is what I learned in my class. She organized her files on the desk and without looking at me said you can find that out from the judge when we get started.

I was treated very politely by the female judge however. I think she probably came up the ranks of the public defenders office. My client got the basic penalty he was due and although his license was suspended for one year, I was able to allowed to drive to and from work and while he was working since driving was part of his job. But I pulled the ad from the shopper. One DUI defense was enough. One criminal case was enough for me to change my mind about criminal law. At court I felt like I was the one who was on trial not my client. But the truth of the matter is, the criminal attorney is the agent of the accused and has to know that going into not only the courtroom but into law school.

Having a well experienced criminal lawyer Fort Lauderdale is greatly beneficial to the case. A Fort Lauderdale criminal attorney will use their expertise to fight for your welfare, guaranteeing the best possible outcomes.

  • What on earth has children’s behaviour management got to do with digging holes?? More than you may think…

Children in my classes have very challenging behaviour in their schools. Teachers and many other professionals have failed to manage them before they get to me and nobody knows what to do next. The next step is the involvement of mental health services – it’s getting desperate! There’s never any question that the adults may be managing the child’s behaviour wrongly! It’s always that there must be a fault with the child…

Energy is vitally imporant in effective behaviour management – but it has to be the right energy. A great deal of energy is involved in dealing with a child behaving badly in school (or anywhere else for that matter!), but for all your work things just seem to be getting worse. If you want to see improvements you won’t achieve any by using negative energy – and unfortunately in these circumstances that is invariably what’s being used.

I remember a little boy I had in my class a couple of years ago and his referring school was the most negative I’ve ever encountered – but hey, they thought they were great! At review meetings I had to tell both the school and parents (unbelievably) that they really had to find something positive to say about the child. All he was getting was negatives – words, body language and attitude. He could do nothing right! His life, in and out of school, was a misery. What did they say? They actually told me that there was nothing positive they could say about the child! It’s not often that I’m speechless, but I was appalled that a little boy could be spoken of in such a way. He ended up tranferring to another school where he was very successful.

This school told me they’d worked so hard to manage this child, but whatever they did had no impact and nothing improved. I told them that I was sure that they’d worked hard, but, and here’s a very important message… if you’re not doing it right then all the hard work in the world isn’t going to make it right. It’s like digging a hole… you dig like mad, a really big hole – finished. You’ve worked so hard and been digging for ages. Then you discover you’ve dug the hole in the wrong place… Oops – all that hard work – totally wasted. A very inefficient use of energy…

To be an effective classroom practitioner you have to build confidence in a range of strategies you can use. With practise these become second nature and instinctive – you’re then using positive energy. The vast majority of children can present difficult behaviour if not managed effectively, so learning to be a successful behaviour practitioner is essential. It’s not difficult to achieve – anybody can learn to do so pretty easily.

To become confident at managing behaviour, read the techniques (they’re easy to follow). You may ask if you can learn what you need this way and the answer is, ‘Yes you can’. I give advice by email every day. It’s important that you practise the techniques until you’re totally confident and use them all the time – consistency is essential.

Make sure when you start digging that you’re working in the right place!!

Liz Marsden, an expert practitioner in managing children’s extreme behaviour in the teaching, uses her skills to train teachers, students, teaching assistants and parents. Visit Liz’s website where you can read about her techniques and her widely recommended book, Behaviour Bible offers invaluable advice. • There are a lot of reasons why people want to learn Spanish. For one, it belongs to what we call the Romance languages. Although they certainly sound romantic, they started being called “Romance languages” (sometimes, Romance languages are referred to as Neo-Latin languages, Romanic languages, or Latin languages), which is a collective name for all the languages that are descendants of the Latin language, the ancient language of Rome. There are almost seven hundred million native speakers of Romance languages all over the world, mainly in the United States, Africa, Europe, and other small regions.

The major Romance languages are French, Italian, Catalan, Romanian, Portuguese, and Spanish. According to a comprehensive research done and just recently released by SIL International’s Ethnologue, which is the comprehensive reference that catalogs all the known languages in the world today and has been doing it for more than fifty (50) years now, the Spanish language is the native language of approximately three hundred and twenty-nine million (329,000,000) people all over the world, mainly from the Americas and Asia and Africa. It is the second most widely-spoken language in terms of population, spoken in forty-four (44) countries, next only to Chinese, which is spoken by over one billion people and is concentrated only in China. English is a very close 3rd, having three hundred and twenty-eight million (328,000,000) speakers and is spoken in one hundred and twelve (112) countries.

Given these facts, a lot of people want to learn Spanish, and if you want to learn Spanish and your budget is big, a Spanish immersion is the most effective way to do it. Today, there are lots of companies offering Spanish immersion classes anywhere in the world because of the demand for it.

Why is a Spanish immersion the most effective way to learn Spanish? It is because when you are in a Spanish immersion class, you will only be allowed to speak in Spanish or is going to be encouraged to speak in Spanish all throughout the duration of the course. Learning it in a Spanish-speaking country would also be advantageous since a part of your Spanish immersion program would be to have you immersed with a Spanish-speaking family and may also be given a chance to actually live with them, giving you a clearer picture of how the Spanish language is being spoken in normal, everyday living, which is most of the time much more effective than learning Spanish in the classroom.

A Spanish immersion program, although it is going to really be more expensive than a traditional learn Spanish class, will really be able to give you more benefits. Why? Because it will be able to make you the language and the rich culture behind it first-hand, making learning not only effective but enriching at the same time.

Learning skills with esl games, is not always easy but it opens so many doors that would other wise be closed. ESL activities aren’t only a resume builder but a useful life long skill. Learning another language is a great way to expand both your job skills, the people you know and the way you look at life. Start studying today and see what new opportunities open up.
