It is widely know that getting back links to your site will improve your rankings with the search engines but getting links by leaving blog comments is commonly over looked.
Those of you that aren’t using blog comments for back link have probably heard some on tell you about no follow tags and how the search engines won’t follow the link from comment on blogs.
This is both true and not true at the same time. Yes, a vast majority of the blogs you find will have the no follow tag on the comments. But there are some that don’t have no follow tags.
When WordPress is installed it automatically configures your blog to have no follow tag on comment but there are some blog owners that want you to comment so they will use a plugin to remove the no follow tags, either completely or based on the number of comments you leave.
Go out and post your comments on these blogs but before you do I want to make sure you aren’t leaving spammy comments so here is some blog comments etiquette.
If you are going to leave a comment on the blog MAKE SURE the comment is relevant to the post.
For example if the post is on blog comments your comment should be related to that post and have something to do with the content of the post. Don’t leave a comment talking about how to conquer the newest MLM offering.
You shouldn’t put a link in the body of your comment unless it is directly related to the post and is information that won’t fit in the comment itself, such as a video.
I recommend that you set your blog up so that if there are links in the body of the comment it will go to the comment moderation. This way you will have to approve the comment before it shows up on your blog. This will keep the spammy comments of your blog.
Where the comment form asks for your name that should be your name, don’t stuff it with keywords. You can use a pseudonym, I use Randy The Hermit because most people know me by that. Your pseudonym can have keywords in it, if the keywords are related to you or your business only. And it should stay the same on every comment. Besides if the no follow tags are in place the keywords won’t help you in the search engines.
That is a general overview of blog etiquette but you should never do anything in a blog comment that you wouldn’t want done on your blog. Even with the no follow tags you should still be posting comments, I bet you are wondering why?
There are a few reasons why you should leave comments even if there are no follow tags, such as:
1.It is still a link to your site that people will see and possibly follow. If you leave 5 blog comments per day that is 1,500 links in a year that might catch the eye of the reader and could get you traffic.
2.If you are posting relevant comments people will remember your name and you will start to build a reputation for yourself, especially if you only used one name.
3.Just like above if your comment is interesting people will click on your link out of curiosity just to see what else you have to say.
4.Some of the ad services and search engines, like Ask (the last time I checked) don’t read the no follow tag. With the ad services this means that you site will look more relevant and it could lead to higher pay outs on your ads.
If comments have the no follow tag activated how do you tell?
The most obvious way is to find a comment and look at the page source, pour through all the code looking for the link on the name and seeing if the no follow tag is in the link. This will drive you crazy if you do it a lot of times but it does work.
A better way is to use an addon for the FireFox or Flock browser (these are the browsers you should be using). This addon is called SEO for FireFox it is provided by SEOTools.com or you can find it by searching for SEO for FireFox addon in Google.
This addon will give you a bunch of information that can be used for SEO but the one feature that we are interested in now is the no follow highlighting. What it does is look at all the links on the page your viewing and highlights all the no follow links in red. If the name in the blog comment isn’t red then the no follow is shut off on that blog.
People that run WordPress blogs want you to leave comments and they don’t want spam comments so a lot of them have started using a plugin that rewards the people that comment frequently, this plugin is called Lucia’s Linky Love.
After they install this plug in the blog master can set it so that the no follow tag will be removed from the comments for people that comment a certain number of times.
It checks the name and email address to see if this person has ever commented before and keeps track of all the ones that match. If you use different names (which has already been pointed out as a no no) or different emails you will never have the no follow tags removed.
The owner of the site can set the limit from 3 to whatever they feel like but most of the time if they are using the plugin it is set from 3 to 5. This means you will have to leave a relevant comment 3 to 5 times before the no follow tag is removed but when it is removed it is removed from any comments you make from there on.
Now I bet you want to know how this will help you when you are leaving comments. You can actually find posts that are using Lucia’s Linky Love but doing a search in Googles Blogsearch. Put your keyword phrase in quotes then a plus sign (+) then in quotes Lucia’s Linky and you should find posts on topic that use this plugin. Make the minimum number of comments plus 1 and you now have start creating back links followed by all the search engines.
On the blogs I use this on you will need to post 4 times to get a link back to your site. I read the comments and I delete the spammy ones so the people just trying to get the right number of posts never make it. This encourages more comments and usually adds good information.
The way to register a domain name is by signing up with a service that provides domain names called a registrar. ICANN is the main organization that provides standards and procedures for domain name registrars to be certified.
Only a domain name registrar is permitted to access and modify the master database domains that are on InterNIC servers. The fee is determined by the registrar as far as getting a domain name and some registers have special domain name packages.
Domain names can be used for branding purposes, and also you use a domain name to create an identity on the Web. You must come up with a domain name that will catch people’s attention. You can use your business name as your URL. If the name of your company is currently in use, then obtain a URL name similar to what your business is. Purchasing a business name domain name isn’t the only way to go, and when a keyword domain name could do just fine.
Use common sense when choosing a domain name because your domain name, or URL, can have an impact in both the online and offline marketing of your website. Long or difficult to spell domain names can make people ignore your web site and it has to be pretty good for them to stick with it. Short domain names register better with people’s memory and are easy to remember.
After you choose a domain name, you need to get it registered with a domain name registrar service. Charges are likely to consist of a one-time installation cost to cover the background technical job that has to be done. Then pay your service provider a monthly, semi-annual or annual fee for Web site hosting services.
You can find online tools for your site with your domain registrar.
It will be much more better if you purchase a .com domain name instead of a .info, .net, .biz or other. If your chosen domain name is not available in a .com, keep looking until you find one that isn’t taken. Having a .net (or another extension) website is not a bad thing. It’s just that .com extension sounds like you’ve been on the net a long time.
Then you might consider looking at the lenght of time your competitors have regstered their domain names, if you want to stay ahead of your competition. If your domain name expires, there’s a good chance that someone will register your domain name immediately after it expires. Renewal of domain names regularly is an assurance that you keep it for several years.
Never forget that your domain name is an extension of your business. It is part of your brand and an important part of your marketing strategy.

To do it right, you want to learn the criteria and techniques how search engines rank the websites and if you implement such techniques, your website will get decent website ranking. For instance, keyword density is an important factor to consider placing your website in a high search results position.
Learn 5 Simple Steps to Master Your SEO Trip.
1. Your first task to get top search engine position is to know how important to understand the concept of keyword density. Your target keyword must be 1-3% of your article.
2. The proper usage of meta tags is a significant issue to get a decent placement and leads to increase web traffic. Make your description meta tag short, and key word rich. Additionally, include your keywords in the title meta tag.
3. The choice of your domain name can help very well to skyrocket your website ranking. It must be short, descriptive, and easy to remember. Remember that free domains and web hosting account would not help that much to increase your ranking.
4. Search engine ranking does not work like set it and forget it. Keep yourself updated with the recent techniques and knowledge in this field and always look for new tools to apply to keep your high ranking.
5. Concerning website optimization, adding fresh and unique articles to your website would definitely help to increase your ranking. This is because your website will receive decent rankings for your articles keywords since periodical adding of new content to your website would inform the search engines that your website is fresh and up to date.
Create an offer with easy access. Easy access to a whitepaper, a recent study or poll within your industry that give useful information can be a great way to start. Get the firstname and email address, and make sure to send it immediately via an autoresponder. Aweber is a great system, but there are many out there.
One way to impact your results positively is META tags, for example. They are HTML codes that get placed at the top of your web page, and are very important. Keep in mind, however, that your META tags must match the content of your page or they will be worthless, which again, is why it may be best to bring in a professional.
Use other people’s network. Popular information products are found on Clickbank.com. You can create the same, and use people to refer business to you, while giving them a cut. Affiliate marketing is a great business, generating millions of dollars each day, and if you have a particular niche where people are hungry for information, and you can separate yourself with quality content, you’ll have an edge. Traffic can really take off.
RSS and media feeds. RSS feeds are a great way to ensure fresh content is delivered to your blog on a daily basis, and sites like MyYahoo.com allow your site to be spidered regularly by the Yahoo search engine. Tools like Ping O Matic, which pings or notifies blog directories each time you publish a post, are valuable, as is simply submitting your website to directories of related sites.
Content / Article Marketing & Syndication. This is a fantastic way to get free backlinks to your site (one-way links) - but also showcase and share your information with your targeted audience. You can also get a following as an authority provider of information, and top article sites are ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com and buzzle.com. Make sure to create engaging content, and take the reader back to a page where you have a direct call to action (make them do something).
If you want to get love from the search engines then you need to make sure your website remains updated and has fresh content. People talk about getting to number one on yahoo or Google, but they dont often tell you how difficult and involved in staying there.
The truth is simple ” if you want to get there and stay there, you need to work at it and be prepared to tweak your website regularly to remain on or near the top of the rankings. Why is this? Its simply because Google then recognises your website as one that is current and up to date, rather than one which is neglected and hasnt been updated in weeks or even months.
A lot of people think that the changes need to be big ones, but that isnt the case. Updating your website could be as simple as rewording a paragraph that just doesnt flow, or including a couple of extra links here and there, or any one of a dozen other tiny processes that serve as the ideal update to let the big search engines know that you are still there, working to create a site that will be even better in the long term than it is in the short term.
Regular changes and additions also give your website visitors a good reason to come back. If they know there is going to be new regular content every time they visit your site, then you are going to get more repeat traffic and that leads to better search engine rankings and sales in the long run.
The trick is to make little changes often, rather than go for massive changes once in a while. Small and regular effort will bring better results and more repeat traffic both in the short and the long term.
Actually, you don’t have to offer such a “heavyweight” download such as a full-feature software like iTunes. You can attract prospects equally well with some quality freebies such as a simple report, a free wallpaper, and so on. The most important thing is that your download offers enough value for the prospect to be willing to give away his/her own email address to get it.
Minimizing Load Time Through Image Optimization:Even though more and more Internet users switch to broadband every year, a sizable portion of the web’s population is still running on good old dialup connections. It is therefore unwise to count them out of the equation when you’re designing your website, and a very major consideration we have to make for dialup users is the loading time of your website.
Generating Revenue With Good Planning:For anything to work well, care must be taken to make firm, workable plans to execute it and the same goes for website designs. With a well thought out website design, you will be able to create a site that generates multiple streams of revenue for you. In fact, may websites turn into online wasteland because they are not well planned and do not get a single visitor. Gradually, the webmaster will not be motivated to update it anymore and it turns into wasted cyberspace.
Another route you can take is to design your website yourself. Think about it, if you only need 5 simple pages to present some simple information, why waste hundreds of dollars for it? Just spend a little time to sit down and do it yourself. You’ll be able to design your own sites even if you do not know a single line of HTML code with the help of WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) programs such as Microsoft Frontpage, Macromedia Dreamweaver and so on.
When you have a broader, better-defined scope of themes for your website, you can sell space on your pages to people interested in advertising on your page. You can also earn from programs like Google’s Adsense and Yahoo! Search Marketing if people surf to those themed pages and click on the ads. For this very reason, the advertisement blocks on your pages need to be relevant to the content, so a themed page fits that criteria perfectly.
Apply visual representations for the problems and solutions that your product offers. Not everyone will read your text copy from the head to the tail, but most people will pay attention to images on your website.

How do you choose a cell phone and calling plan that is right for you? Over the life of your phone, the calling plan service will cost much more than the phone itself-especially if the phone is free. Subscribers can keep their existing wireless phone number and even their landline based numbers when transferring or starting service with a new carrier. I recently came across what may be the absolute best tool for SEO online today. It is a program called Unique Article Wizard.
I am under a clause of confidentiality so I can’t tell exactly how it works. But I can tell you what it does for you and why it’s beneficial. In a nut shell it creates unique articles from the articles you write and then submits them to thousands of directories. It leaves anchor texted links on the submitted pages pointing back to your site.
I wrote 3 articles in under an hour, and the program was able to create over 2,100 articles from the content I wrote. And if you opt to, you can get some of the generated posts sent to your email or blog to give you unique content for them. At only $67 a month it is a very good deal if you actually use it.
There are other automated programs that submit to bookmarking sites and things like that, but those are very weak links that aren’t worth much in Google’s search engine. For maximum SEO you need relevant links. BMD is probably the most popular and it is $120, but again it only gets cheap links.
Writing the articles yourself is perfect because it gives you content that is completely relevant to your site and your niche. Relevant links will boost your Google ranking for that niche and ultimately make you money.
The best part of all is that you get a 30 day no questions asked, money back guarantee! If you don’t like the program you can get a full refund within the 30 day period.
It is totally worth it to try. Click the link in my signature that says Unique Article Wizard. Use the program a few times, and if you don’t like it get your money back. It’s super easy to use.
Search engines value the links pointing to your site as votes . This is how they determine what your site is about, and the importance and relevance of your site in relation to those words. Links from high PageRank sites are considered bigger votes. And votes from trusted and authority sites are also considered more valuable. Links from a .gov or .edu are trusted sites, and will be considered a stronger vote by the search engines.
The fact that .edu text links are rated higher is mostly not in dispute, but occasionally there is a SEO provider that disagrees. In fact, there are a few successful industry players that insist that .edu links have no more value than any other type link. Ad Edutextlink.com we disagree. We have run test after test and the results clearly show that .edu text links are valued higher than others by search engines.
That .edu text links are valued higher by the search engines should not be in dispute. When doing any type of random search, you will find .edu and .gov sites ranking repeatedly in the top 10. And that’s even when the .gov and .edu sites are outdated or mostly irrelevant. That’s a fact.
Think of this: consider a new University opening this year, versus any average State University already in existence. The new school wouldn’t likely hold much value with the search engines because it’s brand new. But that State University, over 100 years old, well respected, huge amount of inbound links, full of information, thousands of hits per hour is going to be ranked high. That’s just how it is. So except for extreme situations such as brand new .edu links, the overall premise of premium value cannot be disputed.
As with anything, there’s no way to get everybody to agree, so the naysayers who disagree about .edu links may just need to agree to disagree with the rest of the pack. Most SEO providers are seeing positive results as are we. And as long as our clients rankings are climbing to the top using quality content links, then we won’t likely abandon something that works.
